If there's one essential for me on New Years Eve, it's glitter. I've spent most December 31st's with my family as my mum's birthday is January 1st, but just in case I decide to break the habit of a life time and hit the dance floor, I've rounded up my top NYE picks.
I've raved about the Mavala Pure Diamond polish recently here, but the love affair continues and I'll be layering this over a nude or dramatic dark blue for NYE. This silver and holographic fleck combination is the perfect festive glitter. Continuing the glitter theme is the Make Up For Ever Diamond Powder. For swatches and a full review check here. I mentioned in the initial review that this was a beautiful wintery pigment and that still stands. I did a trial run of a smokey NYE rose gold eye makeup and added this is as the finishing touch and it was perfect.
Because it's party-time I like to go all out with the highlighting. Although I'll never achieve Kardashian cheek bones (sigh) this duo are the best that I've found for the job so far. MAC Soft and Gentle is a 'blogger famous' product, and with good reason. This is one of the most beautiful, radiant highlighters I've ever come across, and it gives me a really natural glow. The shade is perfect for me too. For swatches, click here. The Estee Lauder Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator is probably the most underrated product in my drawers. I always forget how nice of a highlighter this is until I use it. I prefer to use this pen to brighten under my eyes, it does a great job of hiding dark circles. The rose gold packaging feels so luxurious, too. I've swatched this before here.
Finally, what would New Years Eve be without a midnight kiss? I decided not to risk a lipstick and instead went for my Chanel Levres Scintillanes Glossimer in the shade Plaisir. This is my favourite lipgloss - it's a pretty, natural shade, which gives just the right amount of gloss without feeling too sticky.
